<link>http://dissertations.umu.ac.ug/xmlui/handle/123456789/1360</link>
<description>The impact of the UBUDEHE program on poverty reduction in Rwanda:

reduction in Rwanda. Ubudehe was program started in 2001 in the name” Ubudehe mu &#13;
krwanya ubukene” which means ubudehe in the fight against poverty, however after all the 13 &#13;

poverty reduction and to find out how the Ubudehe health insurance program helps to reduce &#13;

analyzing what different authors have written about the topic. This was done using online &#13;
journals and books. The analyzed data was collected using administered questionnaires; the &#13;
study was conducted using 50 respondents. The results indicated that most of the respondents &#13;
were females, 59.4% and the males were 40.4%. The results also showed that most of the &#13;

<title>The impact of employee training programs on organizational performance: A case of study of eco bank (Burundi)</title>
<link>http://dissertations.umu.ac.ug/xmlui/handle/123456789/1342</link>
<description>The impact of employee training programs on organizational performance: A case of study of eco bank (Burundi)
Nahayo, Ghyslain Andy
The general objective of this study was to investigate the impact of employee training on &#13;
organizational performance focusing on a case study of EcoBank (Burundi). The past years &#13;
EcoBank Burundi has reported severe failure to meet its targeted projections during each&#13;
financial year review. This problem arises because EcoBank Burundi for the past few years &#13;
has not been investing in employee training programs like capacity development and skills &#13;
training for their workers. The objectives of the study were to identify; the employee training &#13;
programs, the effect of employee training on organizational performance and the challenges &#13;
of employee training. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches were used to obtain data &#13;
about the research object. &#13;
In the first objective it was concluded that the employee training programs at EcoBank &#13;
(Burundi) were; orientation program, capacity building program, time management program, &#13;
employee safety program, ethics and harassment program, leadership and supervisory &#13;
program and customer service program. In the second objective, research concluded that; &#13;
addressing weaknesses within the organization, improved and consistent employee &#13;
performance, employee satisfaction, perceived benefits of employee development, employee &#13;
development limits organization liability, career and goal orientation and knowledge and &#13;
innovation were the major effects of employee training on EcoBank’s performance. In the &#13;
third objective, it was concluded that; work ethics, limited training resources, workers’ &#13;
compensation, retrenchment and downsizing, managing change, retaining talent, managing &#13;
fast changing technological trends and managing workforce stress and employment relations &#13;
were some of the challenges faced by EcoBank (Burundi) in its effort to train employees.&#13;
It was recommended that; the business community of Burundi should embrace employee &#13;
training as a way of promoting effectiveness of their staff members and encouraging &#13;
performance. There should be more effort put in employee training sessions in EcoBank &#13;
Burundi. More resources should be allocated in matters concerning employee training in &#13;
terms of funds for the trainers to carry out good training sessions. More research is called for &#13;
on the impact of employee training on employee satisfaction and overall performance: a case &#13;
study of Coca Cola Company.

<link>http://dissertations.umu.ac.ug/xmlui/handle/123456789/1339</link>
<description>Impact of internal control systems on the performance of financial institutions in South Sudan: A case study Nile Commercial Bank Juba
Mabior, Martin
Study was based on the impact of internal control systems on performance financial institutions case&#13;
study of Nile Commercial Bank Juba South Sudan. The study was guided by the following objectives: &#13;
To examine how financial records can lead to the performance of financial institutions, To examine &#13;
how Nile Commercial Bank can ensure effective and efficient payments for proper performance of &#13;
financial institutions and To ascertain the extent to which fraud and errors can be prevented or &#13;
detected early on the performance of financial institutions. Questionnaire, and interview were used to &#13;
collect data of 52 respondents, questionnaire were distributed to the respondents in Nile Commercial &#13;
Bank in different departments such as Finance and accounting department, Human resource &#13;
department, Procurement department, Administrator, auditors, line managers, risk managers and &#13;
tellers. Data was analysed using frequency tables, Pie charts computer programs such as SPSS 16.0, &#13;
Microsoft excel, Microsoft word and Epidata 3.0 software. The study found out that effective and &#13;
efficient payment were not properly followed by Nile Commercial Bank this is in line with the &#13;
findings which shows some respondents agreed, other were neutral and other strongly disagreed. &#13;
Financial record were not minutely followed by the auditors which lead to disagreement of some &#13;
respondents and fraud and errors in Nile Commercial Bank were seen as the majority obstacle to the &#13;
achievement of the objectives with majority of the respondent agreeing that there fraud and errors in &#13;
the Bank. The relationship between financial records and performance of financial institutions &#13;
indicated a 0.211 which is a very weak positive relationship. The weak relationship attributed to the &#13;
insecurity to the Bank and management, and also the relationship between effective and efficient &#13;
payment and the performance of financial institutions have a very strong positive correlation 0.86 and &#13;
this implies that the payment procedures were effective and efficient. &#13;
It is therefore recommended that the implementation of internal control system be reviewed especially &#13;
in the area financial records and fraud and errors.

<description>Employee development strategies and worker productivity in non-governmental organizations in Uganda: Case study World Vision Uganda Kotido field office
Abura, Charles
In this study, the researcher set out to establish the impact of Employee Development &#13;
strategies in enhancing worker productivity in non-governmental organizations in Uganda a &#13;
case study of World Vision Uganda-Kotido Field office.&#13;
The study was guided by three research objectives; &#13;
It specifically addressed how training employees enhances worker productivity in non governmental organizations in Uganda. .In addition to the above objective, the study aimed at &#13;
finding out whether employee appraisal and feedback affected worker productivity in non governmental organizations in Uganda and lastly the study looked at assessing whether &#13;
employee empowerment affected worker productivity in non-governmental organizations in &#13;
Uganda.The researcher used largely quantitative method though to some extent a mix of &#13;
qualitative method was also used. Quantitative method involved analyzing and interpreting &#13;
the phenomena largely in terms of numbers and other scientific measures like Chi Square and &#13;
P-value. Specifically cross sectional design was used because this study aimed at finding out &#13;
the prevalence of a phenomenon by taking a cross section of the population at one point in &#13;
time while collecting the data&#13;
The study found out that World Vision Uganda-Kotido Field office practiced employee &#13;
development strategies more especially training of its employees to equip them with &#13;
sufficient knowledge and skills to be more productive. The study further revealed that though &#13;
the organization put in alot of effort in appraising it employees worker productivity did not &#13;
respond as anticipated by top management. &#13;
The study will highly benefit the case study and practitioners in management The study also &#13;
suggests significant policy statements through its recommendation on training employees, &#13;
employee appraisal and feedback and empowering employees in organizations. Such &#13;
recommendations are helpful in policy formulation in the NGOs in Uganda. The study also &#13;
influences the practice of management in the NGOs in the country in the attempt to deal with &#13;
low worker productivity and its related problems.&#13;
The study concluded that investment in employee development strategies was a worthwhile &#13;
undertaking and that management should endeavour to continue in developing its employees &#13;
as World Vision Uganda-Kotido filed office as implemented to realise an increase in worker &#13;
productivity.
